Welcome to the VMware vRealize Cloud Universal Universe! (cue theme song from Kimpossible)
Let’s jump straight in because here on the first day of VMworld you’re going to have so much going on!
The Key Attributes of VMware vRealize Cloud Universal are:
- SaaS Suite of vRealize Offerings
- Hybrid Subscription
- One License – I repeat, ONE LICENSE!
- Combines SaaS and On-Premises vRealize Products and Services
- Deploy as SaaS OR On-Premises vRealize Interchangeably!
- Access to SaaS ONLY capabilities which can be used to accelerate your cloud adoption or operations
Here you can see the whole picture of what services are included as part of the solution (notice the On-Premises vs the Cloud variation of some services). Don’t let this assume that you MUST migrate to the Cloud version of a solution in order to be able to use the Universal Licensing, as that’s not required, the key is, it allows you to flexibly move between the platforms without the pains associated today in License Management.
Also there ARE Standard, Advanced and Enterprise versions available in this solution, and having talked with some VMware Operations Sales folks, there are some VERY nice benefits and incentives to adopting this Universal licensing subscription, so 2020 will finally have SOMETHING good come from it! 🙂
Now this is where it gets even more exciting as we take a gander at some of these solutions, the likes of which I already wrote about in my VMware vRealize AI Cloud article for example!
