VMware vRealize Operations 8.2 is a Game Changer in Operations Visibility

This is easily one of the more exciting posts I’ll be able to share in awhile. If you don’t care about Operations, it’s cool, it might not be nearly as exciting to you, but as I once upon a time ran one of the worlds largest VMware Operations environments… I always love to see advances in vRealize Operations, so this part in particularly is exciting! (For those less excited… some of my other posts will definitely be your cup of tea!)

How exactly IS the Sausage made?!

That’s one of the biggest challenges and concerns for many Operations Environments… is exactly how do we keep things going, how do we keep the sausage in continuous production.. Well, let’s jump right into it, shall we? It’s starting to get late! (Oh and look down below for EXCLUSIVE CLOUD BENEFITS! :)) [It will be labeled vRops Cloud Exclusive in the top right corner]

MORE application visibility WITHOUT In-Guest Agents?! AMAZING!
More out of the box is ALWAYS appreciated! If you’ve built as many dashboards as I have… I don’t wanna! So build me some nice ones, I appreciate it!
Further continuous integration with other applications is huge every day of the week!
Pricing has always been a pain, so expansions and growth in this space are WELL appreciated!
This is EASILY one of my favorite improvements. It may seem so simple, but 20 second granularity when you’re used to 5 minute, is HUGE. This will enable troubleshooting and introspection into problems that occur within a 5 minute window which will seriously have a huge impact on Operations! <3
No knock against AWS or others monitoring tools… But, this will be very helpful, and VERY appreciated! <3
Relationship Aware Monitoring Integrations… Just going to leave that there!
Obviously, if the last picture didn’t do it for you. Look at this. OMG. Also, OMG. Where was this? I’m glad it’s here now!

It’s just one slide, so you take it as it is. But the Terraform integration and configuration always piques my DevOps Interest, so I like to call it out when I see it!
