Customizing WordPress Menu Banner with Categories, Tags and more!

This post is as much of a reminder for me as it is for anyone else who is plagued by this particular issue!

The issue at hand is … At this time, this is what my easy “Click” banner is, making it easy to click into a Category and get access to the content within! The problem is… I usually FORGET how to actually go about and change this list!

As you can see from the list below, I have more categories total than I have assigned and listed in that list. And no matter how much I go and click “Edit Page” or “Edit with Elementor” one of the plugins I use … well, that’s not how you actually modify this! So look below and I break down how we correct this … And when I need to remember how to do this again, well, I’ll be reading this post (Could be my most-read post by me! ;))

How to edit the Categories shown on the main page!

First, we start with CUSTOMIZE! Absolutely hidden in plain-sight!

And from here it’s pretty straight-forward, but I’ll spell things out for you (and for me :))

From within the list you can click “Add Items” and that will give you the ability to go and add a new Category, Tag, Page, whatever. But ALSO this is how you can go about REMOVING categories or whatever you happened to have listed. And frankly, this is pretty awesome!

Hopefully this helps you find a way to go modify your Tags, Categories, Links or whatever you have in your WordPress site… I know *I* will be revisiting this page again many more times as I totally forget exactly how to do it 🙂
